Heiland replaces Mackay, Mady takes on Waardenburg

ImageMontreal - Ringside MMA is announcing 2 changes to our 7th card, “No Escape”, which is scheduled for June 18th, 2010 at 7:00pm. Jason Mackay has been injured, and will therefore no longer be able to face his opponent, Derek Gauthier. Also, Pierre-Etienne Marcoux from Drummondville has pulled out of his match against Dimitri Waardenburg of Granby, citing personal reasons.

Local favourite Derek Gauthier (6-1-0) is coming off a rebound win over Jason Rorison at Ringside: “Rage”, after suffering the first loss of his career, by way of TKO, at the hands of “TNT” Tyler Jackson. He will now be facing NAAFS veteran Joe Heiland, who steps in for the injured Jason Mackay. Heiland has a very strong record of (6-1-0), with his only defeat in 7 matches coming in his last fight against Daniel Strauss in December of 2009. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Heiland will be looking at getting back in the win column in front of Gauthier’s home crowd on June 18th!

 

The other change involves Dimitri Waardenburg out of Speedy Gym in Granby, who is currently on a 2 fight win streak which started with Pierre-Etienne “Speedy” Marcoux. Marcoux was looking for redemption in a grudge match against Waardenburg, after losing their first match by the judge’s decision, however Pierre-Etienne has since announced that he had to pull out due to personal reasons. Ringside MMA quickly found a suitable replacement in the flamboyant Chucky “The Energiser Bunny” Mady (3-1-0). Mady, who represents the Mady School of Martial Arts in Windsor, Ontario, has a win in his last fight against Demetrius Dean in April of this year. Mady will no doubt be looking to put his Isshin-Ryu Karate skills to the test against Waardenburg’s Muay Thai. This bout has the potential of being explosive and action packed, as these two pugilists will no doubt be engaged in a striking war!
